What is GEM Cyprus?
GEM Cyprus is the official national participation in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, an international research initiative that examines entrepreneurship through comparable annual data and national reporting.
Its purpose is to provide a clearer understanding of entrepreneurship in Cyprus by tracking how people view entrepreneurship, how many are starting or running businesses, and how experts assess the wider entrepreneurial environment.

60.5% of adults in Cyprus believed they had the skills and knowledge to start a business.
11% of adults in Cyprus were involved in early-stage entrepreneurial activity, placing Cyprus above the EU average.
8.2% of adults in Cyprus were owner-managers of established businesses, up from 5.7% the previous year.
22.4% of early-stage entrepreneurs expected at least a quarter of their revenues to come from outside Cyprus
